BlessingWay Henna !!

A blessingway is not a baby shower, but its rather more spiritual celebration of pregnancy, birth and motherhood. Blessingway has its roots in Navajo tradition, and we have borrowed and adapted this ancient custom. Blessingway is a small gathering of the close women family and friends of a pregnant woman, to inspire, nurture and celebrate her during the last weeks of pregnancy.Everyone brinds a bead or two for a birthing necklace, a blessing, an object for the altar, some food to share. Along with all this, mama to be gets her belly hennaed for as a blessing.

This past Saturday, the 22nd of February, I was asked to help an drape sari's for Indian bridal party at the gorgeous St. Regis in Dana Point, CA. I had to start at 7:30 am, which means i had to leave at 6:00 am [too early for me ;)] The bride, and family, was having a destination beach wedding and flew in from the Lone Star State.

Last week I received a pink envelope in the post. Not really expecting anything I open it up and a very sweet handwritten Thank You note was sent to me by one of my amazing brides,Megan Marshall, thanking me for here Henna & makeup services we provided for her big day.

I have to be honest, it’s not that often I actually receive a hand written letter from a bride.

To keep it short, I was taken back. It completely made my day. This is the reason why I do what I do… and LOVE doing it!

First Bridal Mehendi/Henna of the Year!!

Well the New Year started off well with the a Bridal henna on the first day of the Year. What a pleasant family to work with. Large group of women did get henna done including the bride. It was a four day affair.
Lots of color, food, fun and energy. Sweetest bride ever, she was so calm and easy to work with.
